First website update of the year and the season's gone
already. The Internet's just not what it used to be eh... No match reports this year since Captain Stevie took up golf instead, but here's some milestones from the stats which are now all up to date: A second generation of Watsons took the field, with a (only slightly underage) Watson, J coming on against Miramar in the post-season 'friendly'. In 462 games since our first season in 1981 there have been 175 Turtles, 63 of whom never came back for a second game. All time record: Played 462, Won 302, Drawn 36, Lost 124. 1757 Goals For, 809 Goals Against. The highest scoring win was vs Wellington Working Mens Club on June 7th 1986. 25-1. Half time drink flavour - lemon/orange. The worst loss was 8-1 vs Olympic, 23 July 2005. Hmmm... haven't seen that team in Masters since they tightened up the age rules... The Turtles have a winning record against every club except Kapiti/Raumati (P7,W3,L4), Naenae (P2,L2), Porirua City (P12,W5,L6,D1) and Waterside Karori (P11,W4,L6,D1). Congratulations Snouter - 365 games between the sticks, I don't think Bobby will catch you now. | |
